Student brief: Redesign an album cover using a handmade element

Solution: The concept was to convey the theme of the musician St Vincent’s album ‘Strange Mercy’ of a 1950s housewife blissed out on barbiturates. I used ice shaped in a ‘v’ as an abstract representation of the female form,  and light writing to convey sexual undertones of the album, as well as the dischordant electric guitar sounds she uses in her music.
